A simple and accurate way to self monitor the stage of alphabiotic holding you are in, comes from of all things; a YouTube grilling video. Take your open hand, palm up and feel the fleshy thumb pad (thenar eminence) on either hand. It is located at the base of the thumb just above the wrist. Feel how soft and pliable it is.

That is the way your neck should feel when you are in a Stage I holding.

Now, touch the tip of your thumb to the tip of your index finger. Feel how the fleshy thenar eminence ever so slightly thickens? That is the equivalent to a Stage II holding.

Next touch the tip of your thumb to the tip of your middle finger. That’s a Stage III.

Touch the tip of your thumb to the tip of your ring finger. Very dense. Stage IV.

Finally, touch the tip of your thumb to the tip of your pinky. Feel how demonstratively thickened it has become? You guessed it, Stage V.

This is the way your neck tension, armoring will feel to your alphabioticist in Stages I-V.

This is a very useful tool for you to be able to check yourself at home between visits.* With practice, you can accurately know when it is time to come in and when it is not yet time.

*When you are checking neck tension thickness (armoring), do so lying down with the head totally relaxed on a bed or pillow. If you attempt to monitor yourself seated, the neck muscles will engage into contraction and you will not get an accurate reading.
